Steelers Snap Losing Skid, Clinch AFC North Title

The Pittsburgh Steelers entered week 16 of the NFL season on a three-game losing streak and were in jeopardy of losing out on a division title that looked like a sure thing just a few weeks ago.  During the week, Pittsburgh held a team meeting and Head Coach Mike Tomlin spoke with players to try and get things turned around with just two games remaining in the regular season.  Through the first thirty minutes of this game against the Indianapolis Colts, at Heinz Field, it looked like a fourth straight loss was on the horizon.

After a three and out to start the game by Pittsburgh, Indianapolis would march down the field and pick up a 7-0 lead on a 6-yard touchdown run by Jonathan Taylor.  The Steelers would answer early in the second quarter after a fumble recovery gave them the ball at...

Bengals Hand Steelers Third Straight Loss

Three weeks ago, the Pittsburgh Steelers were 11-0, the number one seed in the AFC, and were seen as some to be the biggest threat to de-throne the Kansas City Chiefs as the Super Bowl Champions.

Flash forward to Tuesday, December 22nd, and the Steelers have lost three straight games, are now the third seed in the AFC, and look unable to beat any team that takes the field against them.

Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers’ offense was horrible once again on Monday night, as the Cincinnati Bengals played with complete disrespect for the running game, building a big first half lead and hanging on for a 27-17 victory.

A costly fumble and interception by Ben put the Steelers’ defense in a bad spot, and the Bengals took advantage, building a 17-0 lead at halftime on a 34 yard field g...

Can The Steelers Turn It Around?

Eleven weeks of football, eleven straight wins.  That was how the 2020 season started for the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Even with those eleven wins, one could see cracks in the foundation.  Sure, the defense was playing great, but the offense couldn’t run the ball, there was no threat of a deep pass, and teams that on paper were clearly below Pittsburgh were hanging around until the very end.  Also of major concern is the injury bug that is tearing apart that once feared defense.

After suffering that first defeat of the season last week against the Washington Football Team, the Steelers traveled north to take on the Buffalo Bills...

Washington Rallies To Hand Steelers First Loss

The Pittsburgh Steelers had this coming.  While they have been the only undefeated team in the NFL for weeks and had found ways to win every game this year, they haven’t been playing well for quite awhile, narrowly escaping with victories over and over on their way to an 11-0 record.  But tonight at Heinz Field, their miscues, sloppy play, and inability to put the game away finally cost them.

The Washington Football Team rallied from 14 points down to beat the Steelers, 23-17.  It was a huge win for Washington, as they improve to 5-7 and are atop the NFC East with the New York Giants.

For Pittsburgh, it is not a devastating loss, but certainly a surprise.

It was a sluggish start for both offenses tonight, as neither team could develop any rhythm in a scoreless first quarter unt...

Steelers Win After Strange Week

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  At least that would have been the headline had the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens played their game at Heinz Field on their originally scheduled date.  With Baltimore suffering a slew of COVID-19 cases the game was rescheduled three times and finally played at 3:40pm on a Wednesday afternoon.  That seemed strange, but it is 2020.  Neither team looked good as sloppy play ruled for most of the day.  In the end though, it was Pittsburgh who moved to 11-0 on the season with a 19-14 victory, thus eliminating the Ravens from possibly winning the AFC North.

The Steelers were able to jump on the board first after Joe Haden picked off a Robert Griffin III pass and returned it for a 14-yard touchdown.  Unfortunately, Chris Boswell missed the extra point, s...

Steelers Stay Perfect, Beat Jaguars 27-3

It was a far from perfect performance by the Pittsburgh Steelers this afternoon, but they still soundly beat the Jacksonville Jaguars this afternoon by a 27-3 score.

As has been the case for a number of games this season, the Steelers started out slow and struggled to take control this afternoon, but they settled in midway through the second quarter, broke the game open in the fourth, and coasted to victory the rest of the way.

The Jaguars scored the game’s first points with a 41 yard field goal in the first quarter to take the early lead.  They wouldn’t score another point in the game.

A 44 yard field goal by Chris Boswell tied the game, and a 31 yard touchdown connection between Ben Roethlisberger and Chase Claypool gave the Steelers a 10-3 advantage...

Steelers Dominate Bengals To Remain Unbeaten

The Pittsburgh Steelers returned to Heinz Field today after a three-game road trip to host the Cincinnati Bengals in an AFC North matchup.  Pittsburgh has been winning close games as of late, with all three of their previous games coming down to the last play.  Even with those ending in victories, many critics were not happy that they were playing down to teams that were not on the Steelers level.  Today Pittsburgh would match up with another team, that on paper was not on their level, but unlike the past few weeks they would dominate from start to finish.

Field goals would give the Steelers a boost early in the first quarter.  Chris Boswell would kick a pair of field goals from 41 and 30 yards respectively to give Pittsburgh a 6-0 lead with just under five minutes left in the quarter...

Steelers Remain Unbeaten With Comeback Victory Over Cowboys

The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to find ways to find games.  This afternoon against the Dallas Cowboys, they did not look ready to play and dug themselves a huge hole before rallying to complete the comeback, improving to 8-0 on the season with a 24-19 victory.

Call it a hangover from last week’s game against the Baltimore Ravens, or give the Cowboys credit for coming out strong.  Regardless, the Steelers were in a lot of trouble midway through the second quarter in this game.  But the Cowboys, as they have done all season, found a way to lose the game, while Pittsburgh found a way to win it.

Dallas took  a 3-0 lead on a 38 yard field goal, and early in the second quarter, CeeDee Lamb hauled in a 20 yard touchdown reception to make it 10-0...

Steelers Mount Second Half Comeback, Improve To 7-0

There is no love loss when the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens take the field.  Over the past twenty years these two teams have been near the top, or at the top, of not only the AFC, but the entire NFL.  Entering today they combined for a 11-1 record and were looking to showcase themselves as a possibly frontrunner for the number one seed in the AFC.

This game started out on the positive side for Pittsburgh, as Robert Spillane intercepted a Lamar Jackson pass and returned it 33yds for a touchdown.  Baltimore would rally and tie the game six minutes later on a 6yd touchdown pass from Jackson to Miles Boykin.  The Ravens appeared to take control of this game in the second quarter.  Gus Edwards scored from 1yd out to put Baltimore ahead by a touchdown...

Steelers Hold On Late, Beat Titans 27-24

In a battle of the last two unbeaten teams in the AFC, the Pittsburgh Steelers built a big lead in the first half, and held off a Tennessee Titans’ comeback to secure a 27-24 victory.

The Steelers improved to 6-0 on the season and stay atop the AFC North ahead of the Baltimore Ravens.  With the loss, the Titans fell to 5-1 on the year.

Pittsburgh dominated in all three phases during the first half.  Ben Roethlisberger threw two touchdowns passes to Diontae Johnson in the first half, while Benny Snell ran for a touchdown.  The Steelers out-gained the Titans 161-1 during the first 18 minutes of the game, and they held a 24-7 lead at the half.

After the Steelers added a field goal to begin the second half, Ryan Tannehill finally got things going for Tennessee.  He hit A.J. Brown f...
