Steelers Beat Bengals In Crucial AC North Matchup

While the Pittsburgh Steelers have gotten off to a difficult start to the 2018 season, the Cincinnati Bengals have burst out to a 4-1 start.  With a victory over the Steelers today, the Bengals could have made a big statement and taken control of the AFC North division.  But, as has been the case for years now, the Steelers got the best of the Bengals in Cincinnati, beating their division rivals by a 28-21 score.

Ben Roethlisberger threw for 369 yards and one touchdown for Pittsburgh, while James Conner continued to be the workhouse for this offense, rushing for 111 yards on 19 carries and two touchdowns.  JuJu Smith-Schuster led the offense with seven receptions for 111 yards, while Antonio Brown had 105 yards and a touchdown.  Vance McDonald also had a big game, catching seven balls ...

Steelers Rally, Beat Bengals In Ugly Game

Tonight’s game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals had major playoff implications for both teams, and while it was a close game that went down to the wire, dirty plays and injuries once again took to the forefront in front of a national audience.

After falling behind by 17 points, the Steelers rallied in the second half to win 23-20.

Before the game could barely begin, the Steelers were dealt a major blow as Ryan Shazier went down with what appeared to be a serious injury.  There was no further word on the extent of the injury, but he was carted off the field and taken to a local hospital.

The Steelers got off to a sluggish start tonight on both sides of the ball and the Bengals took advantage of it.  A 35 yard field goal by Randy Bullock gave the Bengals an early 3-...

Steelers Top Bengals 29-14

The Pittsburgh Steelers were back at Heinz Field today to host their division rival, the Cincinnati Bengals.  This has been a hard-hitting series over the past couple of years, and most felt that is how it would be today.  These teams would go back and forth throughout the first half until Pittsburgh kicked two field goals prior to halftime.  They would add to that lead during the second half on their way to their fifth victory of the season.

Pittsburgh would take the opening drive down the field and cap it off with a seven-yard touchdown pass from Ben Roethlisberger to Antonio Brown.  Brown would have one of his least productive days of the year with four catches for 65 yards.  Cincinnati would answer when Andy Dalton connected with a six-yard touchdown pass to tie the game at seven.

Steelers Use Late Comeback To Tame Bengals

It is late December and for many NFL teams their seasons are on the line.  The Pittsburgh Steelers came into today holding on to the AFC North Divison lead with three division games on the schedule.  Up first was a road contest with the Cincinnati Bengals.  These two teams have a history of hard fought games that borderline on cheap shots.  While today did not feature anything dirty, it was your typical division game that was contested until the end.

Cincinnati struck first with a 23 yard field goal from Randy Bullock, which was then answered by Chris Boswell who booted a 45 yard field to tie the game at three.  A one yard touchdown run by Andy Dalton as time expired to end the first quarter gave the Bengals a 10-3 lead.

The second quarter saw Cincinnati jump out to a two touchdown le...

Steelers Grind Out 24-16 Victory Over Bengals

After last years AFC Wild Card game, there was a lot of talk about how the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals would respond when they met in week two of the 2016 season.  Overall it was a clean game, but it still had that AFC North division feel.  Pittsburgh took an early lead today and managed to hold on for the rest of the game for a second straight win.

Ben Roethlisberger was not at his best today, but he did have a hand in all three Steelers touchdowns.  His first of the day came in the first quarter on a twenty yard pass to Xavier Grimble.  The Bengals then settled for a twenty-five yard field goal by Mike Nugent prior to the quarter ending.  The second quarter would see each team settle for field goals.  Chris Boswell would boot a forty-nine yard kick, and Nugent would ...

Steelers Handle Bengals 33-20

This afternoon’s game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Bengals had huge playoff implications for both teams.  For Pittsburgh, it was nearly a must win game, as they are trying to keep pace with the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets in the AFC Wild Card race.  For Cincy, they were looking to lock up and clinch the AFC North division with a win.  With so much on the line, tension and emotions were running high, as was evident by the “extracurricular activities” throughout the afternoon.

When all was said and done, though, the Steelers out-muscled their AFC North rivals, beating them handily by a 33-20 score.

Andy Dalton left the game in the first quarter after having only thrown 5 passes with a serious thumb injury.  A.J. McCarron took his place for the rest of...

Steelers Fall To Bengals, Lose Bell For Season

It was supposed to be a good day for the Pittsburgh Steelers and their fans.  After all, the team’s eighth game of the season saw the return of Ben Roethlisberger, and, on a day in which the team were dressed like bees, they had their trio of “B’s” back together again – Ben, Bell, & Brown.

Unfortunately, things didn’t quite turn out the way we were all hoping, as the Steelers squandered some opportunities, lost a fourth quarter lead to the Cincinnati Bengals, and lost their start running back for the rest of the season.

Pittsburgh took a quick lead in the first quarter, held that lead for the majority of the game, but gave it away late and couldn’t score on their final drive in the fourth quarter, falling 16-10 to the first place (and still undefeated) Bengals.

Le’Veon Bell ...
