Ben, Brown Lead Steelers Over Titans

Despite a 7-2 record and occupying a comfortable lead in the AFC North division, the Pittsburgh Steelers have yet to click offensively.  Tonight, though, the two stars of their passing attack – Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown – took over the game, connecting for three touchdowns as the Steelers beat the Tennessee Titans 40-17 at Heinz Field.

The Steelers marched down the field easily on their opening drive, highlighted by a 42 yard touchdown connection between Roethlisberger and Brown to make it an early 7-0 game.

The Titans, on the other hand, turned the ball over on their first possession, as Marcus Mariota overthrew a ball on third down, and Mike Hilton picked up his second interception of the season.  While the Titans’ defense kept the Steelers out of the end zone, a Chris...

Steelers Hold On Late, Beat Lions 20-15

Tonight’s game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Detroit Lions had all the makings of what could have been an offensive shootout.  But these two high-powered offenses struggled out of the gate, and long drives sputtered down the stretch, turning this into a field goal controlled game.  In the end, though, the Steelers made the biggest plays of the night, leading them to a 20-15 victory.

Ben Roethlisberger had 313 yards with a touchdown and interception, while Matthew Stafford threw for 423 yards with zero touchdowns and zero interceptions.  JuJu Smith-Schuster had 193 yards receiving and a touchdown, Antonio Brown had 70 yards, and Le’Veon Bell had 76 yards on the ground.

The first half of this game featured both offenses moving up and down the field, but neither team could finish...

Steelers Top Bengals 29-14

The Pittsburgh Steelers were back at Heinz Field today to host their division rival, the Cincinnati Bengals.  This has been a hard-hitting series over the past couple of years, and most felt that is how it would be today.  These teams would go back and forth throughout the first half until Pittsburgh kicked two field goals prior to halftime.  They would add to that lead during the second half on their way to their fifth victory of the season.

Pittsburgh would take the opening drive down the field and cap it off with a seven-yard touchdown pass from Ben Roethlisberger to Antonio Brown.  Brown would have one of his least productive days of the year with four catches for 65 yards.  Cincinnati would answer when Andy Dalton connected with a six-yard touchdown pass to tie the game at seven.

Bell, Steelers Beat Chiefs 19-13

Coming off one of the more disappointing performances in recent memory, the Pittsburgh Steelers hit the field on Sunday for their toughest opponent of the season thus far.  The Kansas City Chiefs entered play with a perfect 5-0 record, and the Steelers were looking to rebound off an embarrassing loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars last week.

On Sunday, the Steelers got back to what makes them potentially one of the best teams in the NFL, utilizing the run to set up play action, and they outlasted a late Chiefs comeback to hold on for a 19-13 victory.

Le’Veon Bell dominated this game, just as he did in the Steelers’ playoff victory at Arrowhead Stadium last year.  Bell rushed for 179 yards on 32 carries and one touchdown.  Ben Roethlisberger, while still not as sharp as we are accustome...

Roethlisberger Career Worst 5 INT’s vs. Jaguars

During this past offseason Ben Roethlisberger had mentioned how he thought about retirement.  Fans were hoping he had one more year left in him to quarterback what looked like a very explosive offense.  Even the holdout of Le’Veon Bell during training camp could not dampen the spirt of fans for the upcoming season.

After last week’s win over the Baltimore Ravens, it appeared that the Pittsburgh Steelers had finally found the right blend of offense and defense to make a serious run at a seventh Super Bowl title, even with the temper tantrum of Antonio Brown.  That all changed today after another lackluster performance from that so called explosive offense.  This is not the first time that the offense has looked bad, as they had trouble moving the ball for most of the season.

Steelers Show How Flawed They Really Are

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a history of playing poorly against inferior opponents during the Mike Tomlin era.  That is why today’s game against the Chicago Bears had red flags all over it.  History repeated itself today, as Chicago took advantage of poor decisions by the Steelers to win in overtime 23-17 for their first win of the year.

The day started off on a sour note when all of the Steelers, except for Alejandro Villanueva, stayed in the tunnel for the National Anthem.  A muffed punt by Eli Rogers led the way to a three-yard touchdown run from Jordan Howard.  Pittsburgh was able to tie the game with 5:42 left in the second quarter when Ben Roethlisberger threw a seven-yard touchdown pass to Antonio Brown.

That tie would be broken with :43 left in the half when Bears quarterbac...

Steelers Improve To 2-0, Beat Vikings 26-9

After a less than stellar opening week against the Cleveland Browns, the Pittsburgh Steelers looked to improve in their home opener against the Minnesota Vikings at Heinz Field.  This afternoon, the Steelers’ defense was stifling against Minnesota and Ben Roethlisberger and the offense wore down the opposing defense on their way to a 26-9 victory.

The Vikings received a heavy dose of Le’Veon Bell this afternoon, as the Steelers running back had 87 yards on 27 carries.  Antonio Brown was held in check for the majority of the afternoon, tallying five catches for 62 yards.  Roethlisberger, after getting off to a bit of a slow start, finished with 243 yards and two touchdowns.

The Steelers had control of this game all afternoon, even when the score was relatively close.  Martavis Bryan...

Steelers Open Season With Win Over Browns

Expectations are very high for the Pittsburgh Steelers coming into the 2017 NFL season.  The journey for a seventh Super Bowl title would begin on the road against the division rival Cleveland Browns.  Most would have expected Pittsburgh to win this game easily, but teams are usually still finding themselves early in the year and anything can happen when AFC North teams play each other.

The Steelers would force a quick three and out and then jump on the scoreboard when Anthony Chickillo recovered a blocked punt in the end zone.  Cleveland would tie the game with :22 left in the first quarter on a DeShone Kizer 1yd TD run.  The game would remain tied until :45 remaining in the half.  That is when Ben Roethlisberger would throw his first of two touchdown passes to Jesse James.

Brady, Patriots End Steelers Season

Today’s AFC Championship at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts featured the two best teams in the conference after a long season of football.  The New England Patriots have been the consistent, dominant team in the league from the first week of the season.  The Pittsburgh Steelers, meanwhile, had a roller coaster ride of a season in the first half of 2016, but came into today’s game on a roll, nine straight games.

Unfortunately for Pittsburgh, the Tom Brady dominance continued, as the Patriots won this game easily, 36-17, to advance to the Super Bowl.

Brady was magnificent today, picking the Steelers defense apart from the very first drive, racking up 384 yards and three touchdowns.  Chris Hogan led the receiving core with 9 catches for 180 yards and two touchdowns, while Ju...

Steelers Dominate Dolphins, Move On To Divisional Round

After completing the regular season on a seven game winning streak, the Pittsburgh Steelers entered this afternoon’s Wild Card Round game against the Miami Dolphins looking to continue their run into the playoffs.  Today, the Steelers looked dominant from the opening kickoff on both sides of the ball, as they handled the Dolphins a 30-12 defeat at Heinz Field.

In a 30-15 loss in Week 6 in Miami, the Steelers struggled to continue running back Jay Ajayi, who rushed for over 200 yards.  He was completely ineffective this afternoon, though, tallying just 33 yards on 16 carries.

Ben Roethlisberger, who was injured in the Miami game in October, completed 13 of 18 passes for 197 yards and two touchdowns.  Le’Veon Bell rushed 29 times for 167 yards and two touchdowns, while Antonio Brown h...
