Steelers Win Ugly Again

Winning ugly has become a theme for the Pittsburgh Steelers during the Mike Tomlin era.  For whatever reason, Pittsburgh has played down to inferior opponents while he has been the head coach.  With the talent on offense, and a highly ranked defense, the Steelers on paper should have had no problem with the Indianapolis Colts today.  However, the games are not played on paper and Indianapolis gave Pittsburgh all they could handle, before the Steelers went on to a 20-17 victory.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Colts would jump out to a 7-0 lead early in the second quarter on a 60-yard touchdown pass from Jacoby Brissett to Donte Moncrief.  Nine minutes later Adam Vinatieri would boot a 48-yard field goal to increase their lead to ten.  Chris Boswell would finally put the Steelers ...

Early on it was a typical bad weather rivaly game between these two teams.  The Steelers dominated the time of possession in the first quarter, but could only manage a 32yd field goal by Chris Boswell.  The second quarter saw Pittsburgh continue to show that they were the better team, but Boswell would save the offense with a 33yd FG.

The Steelers would drive the ba...

Steelers Cruise Past Colts 45-10

The Pittsburgh Steelers are currently in a log jam for two Wild Card positions in the AFC.  With five games remaining, three against their division and two against division leaders, Pittsburgh needs to start putting complete games together if they hope to return to the post season.  That journey began tonight against the Indianapolis Colts.

Turnovers, which cost the Steelers dearly last week against the Seattle Seahawks, dominated the first three posessions of the game.  Pittsburgh would fumble the opening kickoff, the Colts would give the ball back, and the Steelers returned the favor with another fumble.  Luckily for Pittsburgh those two early turnovers would lead to only a 3-0 deficit.

The Steelers tied the game with a field goal, before intercepting Matt Hasselbeck for the second t...
