Steelers Clinch Division With Nail Biting Win

There is no explanation for how the Pittsburgh Steelers have managed to rack up an eight-game winning streak this year.  Each week they seem to be on the verge of defeat, only to grab on to victory in the final seconds.  Tonight’s game against the Baltimore Ravens was no different.  Games with these two teams are tense enough, but tonight is near the top of the list.

Pittsburgh was able to jump out to a 14-point lead and looked to be in control of the game.  Ben Roethlisberger, who would throw for 506 yards tonight, threw a 20yd touchdown pass to Le’Veon Bell for the first score.  Bell would then run for a 1yd touchdown for the second.  Baltimore would cut that lead in half on a touchdown pass from Joe Flacco to Chris Moore.

The man who should be team MVP this year, Chris Boswell

Steelers Beat Ravens, Clinch AFC North Title

As a professional football team, it doesn’t get much better than to have the opportunity to win your division in a Christmas Day matchup on your home field against your arch rival.  The Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens exchanged heavy blows today in a back and forth battle, but in the end, the Steelers came away with a hard-fought victory at Heinz Field.

Ben Roethlisberger made some big plays and also made some crucial mistakes for Pittsburgh today.  He completed 24 of 33 passes for 279 yards and three touchdowns but also two interceptions.  As usual, Le’Veon Bell led the rushing attack with 122 yards on 20 carries and a touchdown.  Antonio Brown had ten catches, 96 yards and touchdown to lead all receivers, while Eli Rogers added four receptions for 84 yards.

Steelers Lose Third Straight With 21-14 Loss To Ravens

The Pittsburgh Steelers are currently in a tailspin that is being fueled by injuries, bad coaching, and poor play in all three phases of the game.  With today’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh has dropped to 1-3 on the road and is looking up at Baltimore in the standings.  The Steelers fell behind early and their comeback was too little too late as time expired.

Most of the talk coming into the week was if Ben Roethlisberger would be healthy enough to start after knee surgery two weeks ago.  Ben took about 50% of the snaps during practice and was named the starter after a successful pregame workout.  Roethlisberger showed signs of rust throughout the day, and was not helped by his receivers dropping passes.

Roethlisberger finished the day 23-45 for 264 yards with one touchdo...

Steelers Playoff Chances Damaged In Loss to Ravens 20-17

Of all games for the Pittsburgh Steelers to come out unenthused and lackadaisical, this was certainly not it.  After falling behind in the first half for the second consecutive week, Ben Roethlisberger & Co. couldn’t complete the comeback, as the Steelers fell to the Baltimore Ravens, 20-17.

In a game in which the Steelers had everything to play for and the Ravens really didn’t have anything to play for other than to beat their division rival, the home team played harder throughout the entire game and it certainly made the difference down the stretch.

With this loss, coupled with the victories by the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets, and now, not only did the Steelers not clinch the playoffs this week, but they have a strong chance of missing the postseason altogether...

Questionable Play Calling Sends Steelers To OT Loss

We all knew that not having Ben Roethlisberger under center for the Pittsburgh Steelers at any point in the season would be bad news.  With him being out the next 4-6 weeks, the margin of error on the field and sidelines will be at an all time low.  During the fourth quarter and overtime of their Thursday night game with the Baltimore Ravens, that margin was exploited and was the ultimate cause of a 23-20 defeat.

Early on this looked like a classic back and forth game between the two AFC North rivals.  Pittsburgh was able to strike first with a 45yd FG by Josh Scobee.  Scobee would be good again from 36yds in the second quarter, but would then miss two FG’s late in the fourth quarter to seal the victory...
