Steelers Finish Regular Season With Victory Over Browns

The Pittsburgh Steelers entered the final game of the regular season against the winless Cleveland Browns with a slim chance of obtaining the top seed in the AFC playoffs and homefield advantage.  However, with the New England Patriots heavy favorites to win their game, and in an effort to avoid injury to one of their best players, Mike Tomlin decided to rest his biggest stars, including Ben Roethlisberger, Le’Veon Bell, Maurkice Pouncey, and Cameron Heyward.

Despite a strong showing by the Browns, the Steelers made enough plays throughout the game to hang on for a 28-24 victory at Heinz Field.  With the win, Pittsburgh completed their season with an impressive 13-3 record, and clinched the No. 2 seed in the AFC playoffs.

Making his first start of the season, Landry Jones played very w...

Steelers Use Overtime To Defeat Browns

Today’s game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns was basically meaningless after Pittsburgh clinched the AFC North title and #3 seed in the AFC playoffs on Christmas Day.  This led to starters Ben Roethlisberger, Le’Veon Bell, Antonio Brown, and Maurkice Pouncey spending the day on the sideline in street clothes.  The Steelers want to make sure that their offensive weapons are fully ready to go when the postseason begins.

Cleveland was coming off their first win of the season and hoped to carry some momentum into 2017 with another win today.  Early on it looked like they were well on their way to win number two.  Robert Griffin III would throw a 12 yard touchdown pass to Seth DeValve to put the Browns a head 7-0 midway through the first quarter.

The second quarter ...

Banged Up Steelers Fall Short Against Patriots

After a disappointing loss to the Miami Dolphins last week, the Pittsburgh Steelers entered this afternoon’s game at Heinz Field certainly as the underdog against the New England Patriots.  Not only were they facing off against Tom Brady & Co, who has been unstoppable since his return from suspension so far this year, but they were also doing so without Ben Roethlisberger.

Today, after falling behind early and rallying back to make the game interesting, came up short against the Patriots today, losing by a 27-16 score.

Seahawks Outlast Steelers 39-30

As is the case with any season, there are a couple games that stand out when the Pittsburgh Steelers’ schedule is released. For the 2015 season, the mid-season matchup against the Seattle Seahawks was one of the more intriguing games on paper, and what took place on the field today was more than expected for the average NFL fan.

Unfortunately for the fans of the black and gold, the Seahawks made a couple more big plays down the stretching, outlasting the Steelers for a much-needed 39-30 victory.

Ben Roethlisberger and Russell Wilson both had their way with the opposing defenses. Ben went 36-55 for 456 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions, while Wilson threw for 345 yards with five touchdowns.

The Steelers offense started off cautious but effective against the Seahawks defense, ...

Ben, Brown Lead Steelers Over Browns

Ben Roethlisberger wasn’t supposed to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers today against the Cleveland Browns. He was supposed to rest this week, spend the bye week recuperating next week, and be ready to go two weeks from today against the Seattle Seahawks.

Instead, Landry Jones was injured after attempting just four passes, and the Steelers had to resort to their “backup” quarterback to lead them to victory. Big Ben completed 22 of 33 passes for 379 yards and three touchdowns, as the Steelers beat their division foes 30-9 at Heinz Field.

Cleveland was able to move the ball against the Pittsburgh defense, but has been the case all season for the Browns, they made too many mistakes throughout the game to give them even the slightest chance of a victory. Johnny Manziel threw for 372 yards...

Steelers Fall Flat In Loss To Chiefs

The Pittsburgh Steelers were riding high coming into today’s game with the Kansas City Chiefs. They had won two straight, seemed to have found a backup in Landry Jones, and were facing a team on a five game losing streak. All of that would change three hours later, when Kansas City picked up a 23-13 win over Pittsburgh.

Jones looked to be overwhelmed for most of the game as he would go 16-29 for 209yds, a touchdown pass, and two interceptions. It was said he had a grasp on the whole playbook, but with timeouts being used early in the second half, it may have been better to cut down on what plays to use for his first start. Antonio Brown had a big game with six receptions for 124 yards, this was something he was unable to do with Mike Vick starting. His “Killer B” counter part, Le’Veo...

Jones Leads Steelers To Victory Over Cardinals

For the second consecutive game, the Pittsburgh Steelers were dominated in the first half. And, for the second week in a row, they overcame a dreadful start to pull out a hard earned, and much needed, victory. After being unable to move the ball for much of the first half, the Steelers rallied in the second half behind Landry Jones, beating the Arizona Cardinals 25-13 at Heinz Field.

The Cardinals dominated the first half of football this afternoon, moving the ball up and down the field on offense and holding the Steelers offense to well under 100 yards. But, as the Steelers did last week in their dramatic victory over the San Diego Chargers, they hung around in the first half, keeping themselves in the game...
