Steelers Defeat Bengals In Regular Season Finale

The Pittsburgh Steelers entered the final Sunday of the regular season with a chance to make the postseason, but they would need some help from the Cleveland Browns defeating the Baltimore Ravens.  Of course, Pittsburgh would have to take care of their own business at Heinz Field where they were taking on the Cincinnati Bengals.

This game got off to a very sluggish start as neither team was able to put any points on the board in the first quarter.  Cincinnati got things started in the second quarter when Shawn Williams returned a Ben Roethlisberger interception 58 yards for a touchdown.  The Bengals would then increase their lead to ten on a 49-yard field goal by Randy Bullock with 2:12 left in the first half.  Newly signed kicker Matt McCrane put three points on the board for the Stee...

Steelers Lose Heartbreaker To Saints 31-28

After dropping three straight games to AFC West opponents, the Pittsburgh Steelers faced the nearly impossible task of defeating the New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints in back to back weeks.  After defeating the Pats last week at Heinz Field, the Steelers needed another huge win this week in New Orleans to remain atop the AFC North division.

Pittsburgh and New Orleans battled back and forth this afternoon, but the Steelers made the one crucial mistake that ended up costing them the game.  The Saints scored a touchdown with under two minutes remaining, and JuJu Smith-Schuster fumbled when the Steelers were in field goal territory to tie, sealing the deal on a 31-28 loss.

The loss not only boots the Steelers out of the AFC North title, but it actually puts them on the outside...

Steelers Stay Atop AFC North By Defeating Patriots

Since 2001 the Pittsburgh Steelers have had a ton of difficulty playing against the New England Patriots.  Much of that has come from coaching and player matchups, with a little help from cheating and referees.  When the schedule came out earlier this year, everyone knew this week 15 matchup would play a big role on who gets into the 2018 NFL playoffs.  Pittsburgh was looking to snap a three-game skid, while New England was coming off a crushing defeat by the Miami Dolphins.

Early on this game had the making of a shootout with each team scoring on their opening possession.  The Steelers first touchdown of the day came on a five-yard touchdown pass from Ben Roethlisberger to Vance McDonald.  The Patriots would quickly answer when Tom Brady hit Chris Hogan downfield for a sixty-three-ya...

Raiders Hand Steelers Third Straight Loss

The roller coaster ride of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2018 regular season continued on Sunday afternoon with a 24-21 loss to the Oakland Raiders.

Pittsburgh started off slow this season, falling to 1-2-1 through the first quarter of the year and looking like a mediocre team at best.  But they caught fire midway through the season, ripping off six straight wins, sitting at 7-2-1 and looking as if they may be able to make a run at a first round bye in the playoffs.

But the past three games, all against opponents from the AFC West, have been heartbreaking losses for the Steelers, who now find themselves just a half game ahead of the Baltimore Ravens, with three difficult games remaining on their regular season schedule.

Oakland marched down the field on their first drive of the game, scoring...

Chargers Rally, Stun Steelers 33-30

Two weeks ago, the Pittsburgh Steelers were flying high after a dramatic come-from-behind victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars and were in the driver’s seat toward a divisional crown and a possible first round bye in the playoffs.  Flash forward two weeks, and the Black & Gold are barely hanging on to the division lead and have all but lost a chance at a first round bye.

For the second week in a row, the Steelers came up short against an AFC West opponent, as the Los Angeles Chargers rallied in the second half for a 33-30 stunner at Heinz Field.

Pittsburgh got off to a blazing start in front of their hometown crowd and looked as though they were going to coast to an easy victory.  Ben Roethlisberger connected with Antonio Brown to set up a one yard touchdown run by James Conner to mak...

Steelers Winning Streak Snapped By Broncos

The Pittsburgh Steelers entered today’s game with the Denver Broncos on a six-game winning streak and mentioned among the best of the NFL teams.  That would all change today after four turnovers and a 24-17 road loss.  Playing in Denver is tough enough for any team, but when you turn the ball over that many times, including twice in the end zone, disaster is bound to find you.

Pittsburgh had a chance to get on the board with a field goal in the first quarter, but would have it blocked.  The Broncos would then march down the field and kick a 41yd field goal by Brandon McManus.

The second quarter would start with another missed Steelers opportunity.  Ben Roethlisberger threw what looked like a 23yd touchdown pass to Xavier Grimble...

Steelers Destroy Panthers On Thursday Night

It was a short week for the Pittsburgh Steelers, as they played their lone Thursday night game of the season this week against the Carolina Panthers.  Pittsburgh has won four straight games and currently sits atop the AFC North Division.  Carolina has also been playing very well of late, but sit a game behind the New Orleans Saints in the NFC South.  Both teams were looking to stay sharp and prove that they belong among the best in the NFL.

The Panthers got the ball first and didn’t waste anytime jumping on the scoreboard.  Their opening drive was capped with a Cam Newton pass to Christian McCaffrey for a 20yd touchdown.  The rest of the quarter would belong to the Steelers.  On their first offensive play of the game Ben Roethlisberger would throw a 75yd touchdown pass to JuJu Smit...

Steelers Shake Off Rust To Defeat Browns

The Pittsburgh Steelers are currently in the midst of a very important three game stretch against their AFC North Division foes.  After defeating the Cincinnati Bengals two weeks ago, and having a bye week, they welcomed the Cleveland Browns to Heinz Field today.  These two teams faced off in week one of the NFL season and played to a tie.  Pittsburgh knew that a tie or a loss would put a big dent in their division title hopes, so they came to play today.

The first quarter of the game belonged to Cleveland, but the Steelers defense was able to hold them to just two field goals and ended the quarter down six points.  The offense of Pittsburgh was sputtering during this quarter and looked like they hadn’t touched a football in over two weeks...

Steelers Beat Bengals In Crucial AC North Matchup

While the Pittsburgh Steelers have gotten off to a difficult start to the 2018 season, the Cincinnati Bengals have burst out to a 4-1 start.  With a victory over the Steelers today, the Bengals could have made a big statement and taken control of the AFC North division.  But, as has been the case for years now, the Steelers got the best of the Bengals in Cincinnati, beating their division rivals by a 28-21 score.

Ben Roethlisberger threw for 369 yards and one touchdown for Pittsburgh, while James Conner continued to be the workhouse for this offense, rushing for 111 yards on 19 carries and two touchdowns.  JuJu Smith-Schuster led the offense with seven receptions for 111 yards, while Antonio Brown had 105 yards and a touchdown.  Vance McDonald also had a big game, catching seven balls ...
