Pirates Podcast – Bucco Beat – October 4, 2012

Another baseball season has come and gone, and unfortunately, it ended up being more of the same for the Pittsburgh Pirates and their fans.  After a terrific start to the season, including a stretch through June and July when they were playing like one of the best teams in baseball, the Pirates fell apart in August and September, not only losing the division and the Wild Card, but also ending up under .500 for the 20th straight season.

Here at Fans From The Stands, we’re as disappointed as anyone about the Pirates collapse…so much that we talk about it for nearly an hour on the first post-season episode of Bucco Beat.  We look at the team’s starting pitching, bullpen, and offense.  While guys like Andrew McCutchen, A.J. Burnett, Garrett Jones, and Pedro Alvarez had standout seasons, the Bucs certainly had their disappointments as well, including guys like Alex Presley, Jose Tabata, and, of course, Rod Barajas.

We also look at the 2012 MLB postseason, and discuss the chances of teams like the Baltimore Orioles, Oakland A’s, and Washington Nationals.  We make our World Series predictions, preview the Pirates’ offseason and 2013 campaign, and feature our final 2012 edition of Ask Zane Anything.

Enjoy the podcast everyone!
